EORA Acknowledgement
I acknowledge that the Parliament of New South Wales, Macquarie Street Sydney is situated on Eora land. Eora means "here" or "from this place", and as local Aboriginals used "Eora" to describe to the British where they came from, the term was then used to define the Aboriginal people themselves, in short, "the people."
The Gadigal Walking Tour is a tour of Aboriginal inner-Sydney. It looks at sites of traditional and contemporary significance as well as events, organisations and people that have shaped the Aboriginal history of inner-Sydney.

*Most sources agree that the traditional owners of the Sydney City region are the Cadigal band whose area stretches from the south side of Port Jackson from South Head to Petersham. The "Eora people" was the name given to coastal Aborigines around Sydney. The Cadigal people were decimated but there are descendants of the Eora people alive today living in Sydney. The location of Eora is Northern Shores of Port Jackson, extended north to the edge of the plateau overlooking the Hawkesbury River and south to Botany Bay and the St George River. Alternative names Ea-ora, Iora, Yo-ra, Kameraigal. (sources N.B.
